So, then, is Oblivious Michael's Holy Grail? Well, if you asked him, he might not go that far; but it has definitely earned the distinction of being his biggest undertaking yet. His skill and artistry as a craftsman does more than run throughout Parallax Project's debut effort...he is Oblivious.

With an impressive eight albums under his belt as one of the pop underground's most respected bassists, Michael's versatility and eclectic style make him a much sought after commodity on the independent music scene. You'll find him all over the singer / songwriter pop of artists Jeffrey Gaines, Dan Kibler, and Steve Ward; a central force behind the Beatlesque retro pop of Cherry Twister, as well as contributing his own brand of sturm und drang to the artsy garage punk of The Stump Wizards and Deep Reduction.
After racking up an impressive discography as a "second fiddle", Michael felt the next logical step was to attempt to produce the musician's equivalent of the great American novel: the solo album. Oblivious, which was recorded and produced by Michael in his own studio, began as his personal manifesto, but quickly grew beyond the normal parameters of a solo record. Not only is every song, to some degree, the product of Michael's pen, he also plays and sings on, as well as produces and engineers each cut. Realizing, however, that one person does not a great record make and viewing the work as much more than just "his solo album", Michael set out to recognize and honor the tremendous talents who contributed to Oblivious by creating the concept of Parallax Project.
